Why should I recertify my device?

Arranging consistent tune-ups ensures your car will operate smoothly for as long as possible. Nix works the same way! That’s why regularly scheduled recertifications are in your best interest.

Our devices are designed to be durable, but if you want the peace of mind that your device is working at its best, we offer a recertification service. 

What's included / not included?

Included

  • Verification of all device functionality.
    • Visible LEDs: LEDs activate, brightness within spec
    • UV LEDs: LEDs activate, brightness within spec
    • Center lens: Good adhesion, no internal dust, smudges, or scratches
    • RGB and haptics: RGB and haptics activate, brightness and strength within spec
    • USB charging / Battery: RGB charge indicator activates while charging
    • Connectivity: Device advertises and connects to host over Bluetooth, device enumerates
      and connects to host over USB
  • Validate that your device is reaching its full factory performance.
    • Repeatability: Achieves spec sheet performance ΔE00 on white (D65, 10°, to mean of 10 measurements every 3 s on
      white, at a temperature of 23°C)
    • Inter-instrument agreement: Achieves spec sheet performance ΔE00 on 12 CERAM CCS-II tiles (deviation
      from Nix Sensor Ltd. standard unit at a temperature of 23°C (D65, 10°))
  • Complete recalibration using Nix’s proprietary calibration patches.
  • Replacement of calibration tile included.

Note: If we find a problem with your Nix Spectro 2 that is not covered by our recertification service or your warranty, we will contact you to determine the next steps. We will not perform any repairs without your prior permission.

Note: Nix Sensor Ltd. reserves the right to replace your device with an equivalent unit at its sole discretion. Ie. You may not necessarily receive the same serial number unit in return.

Warranty policy

Warranty

Nix Sensor Ltd warrants your recertified product against manufacturer’s defects in materials and workmanship (does not include normal wear and tear) for 1 year from date of recertification, when purchased directly from Nix. Prior to providing warranty service, Nix Sensor Ltd will require you to provide proof of purchase details, including but not limited to a receipt or sales invoice.
Note: Nix will issue a product exchange for the warranty program, not a refund.

How do I get my device recertified?

Step 1. Purchase the recertification for your Nix Spectro 2 device.

Step 2. Complete, download, then print the recertification form.

Step 3. Pack your device, white ceramic calibration tile* and completed recertification form into your protective pelican case.

Step 4. Prepare your package for mailing.

*It is crucial that the white calibration tile be included when you return your device.

When can I expect it back?

After Nix has received your device, you should expect the recertification process to be completed within 7 business days. Once complete, Nix will send your device back to the return address provided in the recertification form.

*Customer to pay round trip shipping costs for getting the device to and from Nix headquarters (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada). In rare occurrences, it may take longer than 7 business days to complete recertification.
